Nikki is a Starting Strength Coach based out of Litchfield Park, AZ. She is a master at genuinely connecting with her clients. She identifies what it takes to drive a person to make incredible changes and goes above and beyond to support them. She specializes in working with women pre-and postnatal, those in the military, and people wanting to lose or gain weight. Nikki also has a knack for competitive lifters, coaching many through state, regional, and national meets, and multiple clients have set powerlifting state records.
Being a mom is Nikki’s favorite thing in the entire world. Through personal experience of training throughout her pregnancies and postpartum training, she has developed a HUGE passion for working with other Mamas and soon-to-be Mamas. She understands how to guide them through their training, helping fit it into their busy lifestyles, balance those energy demands, and keep them safe and strong.
She also understands the importance of developing healthy lifestyle habits through Nutrition Coaching, no matter the client’s goals. She enjoys sharing recipes, guiding clients through their nutrition with habit progressions and/or macro tracking, and giving them the accountability they need to reach their goals. She loves watching a client transform, not just physically but also mentally. Knowing she had a role in improving someone’s overall quality of life is so rewarding!
In addition to nutrition coaching, she also specializes in baby-led weaning. When you have Nikki as your nutrition coach, it involves the whole family, literally! She would love to offer guidance as you start your 6-month-old on solids, and she has all the toddler tricks. Cooking and eating healthy should be fun for the whole family. It will also save you time when your kids eat what you eat. No picky eaters allowed over here!
Nikki understands the unique fitness requirements of the different service branches for military clients. She has been privileged to coach service members—both deployed and at home—helping prepare them for physical fitness tests while maintaining their strength. Her husband is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army, so she understands the demands of being in a military family.
Her certifications include Starting Strength Coach, Professional Barbell Coach, Precision Nutrition Level 1 and Level 2, USAW, and NASM. She holds a BS in the Biological Sciences from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
I coach out of my 3 car garage and am happy to work with anyone who wants to have a session! My favorite clients and specialties are listed in my bio above, but I can get you moving correctly under the barbell no matter what.
I do online coaching through Barbell Logic (https://barbell-logic.com/team/nikki-burman/).

I think Nikki is a high class coach when it comes to providing cues and talking through the steps that go into using perfect form. I was happy to see a starting strength coach lived in AZ, so I signed up my little brother and I for coaching session in Nikki’s garage. I think the time we spent there will be worth its weight in gold for our future trips to the gym. Nikki was extremely attentive to what was wrong with our form for squat, shoulder press, bench & deadlift. I left our session feeling like I have a clear mission plan for my next workout, it’d be silly not get coaching from such a professional!
Thank you so much Kevin! You two were great to work with and hope I get the chance to again! 🙂 Happy lifting!
Had a session with Nikki and she knows her stuff! Helped me work out some programming and gave me some great feedback on my lifts.
Thank you Ty! It was great meeting you and I hope I get the opportunity to coach you again! 🙂
