Jordan started his fitness journey as a track and field athlete at a young age. His desire to improve his athletic ability became a passion for coaching and fitness in high school that decided his path to becoming a professional strength coach.
Jordan continued to compete in track and field at Houston Baptist University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. Shortly after, Jordan became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. This eventually led him to a career as a strength and conditioning coach for Air Force Special Warfare, training operators and candidates for the physical demands of their military pipeline.
It was around this time that Jordan discovered Mark Rippetoe and Starting Strength. The model and coaching philosophy motivated him to become a better coach and sought the Starting Strength Coach credential. Jordan became an apprentice at Starting Strength San Antonio and drastically improved his coaching ability under the mentorship of the staff coaches.
Jordan became a credentialed SSC in January 2023 and is currently the head strength and conditioning coach of the Special Warfare Assessment and Selection course and owner of Claypool Personal Training in San Antonio, Texas.
Online coaching is a great way to get a customized training program and lifting feedback in a one on one format from the convenience of your commercial or home gym.
After your initial consultation, you will be placed on an individualized program based on your specific needs, goals, ability, and experience. During your workout, you will film your sets, after which I'll give you form critiques and cues that you can use in your next workout. Programming updates are made as frequently as necessary and are always specific to your goals to ensure consistent and steady progress.

I’d basically given up on lifting before training with Jordan. As a former D-1 swimmer, I had two repaired meniscus tears in my knees, and a torn labrum and rotator cuff on the same shoulder. I trusted him and started is programming, and not only did it rehabilitate injuries that PT rehab couldn’t fix, but I found joy in working out again!
After 1.5 years of training with Jordan, I became pregnant with my husband and I’s first child. I continued to lift throughout my entire pregnancy, and never felt better. I took a little break after giving birth, but continued to train with Jordan postpartum.
Most women who have given birth complain about pelvic floor issues or bladder issues after giving birth. I had a non-medicated birth and have also had ZERO bladder/pelvic floor issues after birth. I feel stronger and healthier than ever, and it is largely due to Jordan.
I highly recommend Jordan for EVERYONE. He can easily tailor your workouts to your specific goals, whether it be lifting heavy, or (like me) just staying healthy.
I’ve been training with Coach Claypool for a few months now, and the improvement in my squat has been incredible! He completely transformed my technique, focusing on proper form, mobility, and strength. What really stood out was his attention to detail—small adjustments that I never noticed made a world of difference. I went from feeling stuck at a plateau to confidently adding weight to the bar each week. Not only has my strength increased, but I’m also squatting pain-free for the first time in years. If you’re looking for a coach who truly understands how to build strength safely and effectively, I highly recommend Coach Claypool!
