Inna Koppel has been a Starting Strength Coach since 2014. She established the first Starting Strength Affiliate Gym on Long Island. Her primary area of expertise is in coaching women, ranging from teens to late-life, including perinatal training, with a special interest in the elderly and frail. Inna’s interest in using barbells to help the elderly achieve a better quality of life led her to assist in implementation of, in collaboration with neuroscientists, the first and only trial of barbell training in the dementia population. After the COVID-19 policies in New York forced her to close her Affiliate Gym, Inna joined the Starting Strength Gyms franchise team as the Head of Recruiting. She has been tasked with identifying and developing coaching talent to ensure that Starting Strength Gyms continue to recruit the most talented and experienced coaches in the industry.

Inna is a phenomenal coach. She cleaned up a few technical issues with both my press and my deadlift when I trained with her at Starting Strength HQ.
Inna is a fantastic coach. I have been working with Inna, alongside another one of her coaches (Nick), for about 4 years now. Inna is one of the most dedicated people I have been privileged to work with. I had just left another gym I was in and was so happy to find someone who applauds strength above all. Inna taught me how to lift without fear of hurting myself. She is able to look at each lift and know exactly what you need to do to move further along. She is so encouraging. When I built my own home gym she was so encouraging about my working on my own and always welcomes me back when I need some one on one time to tweak my lifts. Any time I feel defeated by my workouts, she finds a way to show me how strong I am and how much potential I have . I highly recommend Inna to anyone looking for fantastic starting strength coaching.

Inna is the most amazing, attentive kind and caring coach anyone could have .I had really bad neck pain for years from working at computers all day , after a few sessions of strength training correctly I was shocked it was gone. I have come to Inna numerous times after sustaining injuries and with her help and brilliant guidance I was healing and working out again pain free. After being hit by a car and tearing my ACL, Inna taught me alternative ways to rehab my body and to help with my pregnancy. I highly recommend training with Inna if you can get a chance .
