Trent Jones is a Starting Strength Coach who coaches clients both online and in-person in the Chattanooga area. Prior to moving to Chattanooga, Trent coached at Fort Worth Strength & Conditioning, a Starting Strength Affiliate Gym, where he specialized in working with Masters lifters over 40 years old.
Trent has worked extensively with the Masters population, adapting the Starting Strength model for older clients with joint pain, mobility limitations, prior injuries, and other symptoms of aging. His passion is teaching people to lift barbells to build stronger, more useful bodies, gain confidence, and improve their quality of life for the long-haul.
In addition to strength coaching, Trent co-hosts and produces a number of podcasts including 40fit Radio with Darin Deaton, DPT, SSC and the Weights and Plates Podcast with Robert Santana, MS, RD, SSC.

Barbell startup - for brand new lifters, this is a 1-on-1 session (usually about 2hrs) to teach you the main lifts (squat, bench, press, & deadlift), explain the basics of a strength program, and address and questions or concerns you have. The startup also includes one week of video reviews after the session — you send me videos of your lifts, and I send feedback to make sure your technique is staying on track.
Form check - a 1-on-1 session for experienced lifters during which I will fine tune your lifting mechanics on the barbell lifts of your choice. This is also a good time to discuss programming, nutrition, and other aspects of training.
I also work with brand new and experienced lifters online. With online coaching, you receive custom programming and video feedback on your lifts every week, via a web platform called TrueCoach.
