Spend the day learning the Squat, Press, and Deadlift and how to self-evaluate your lifts while training in your garage or commercial gym without a coach.
The camp will be focused on getting you doing the lifts correctly while making sure you understand key coaching points in the lifts so you can systematically evaluate your own lifting. We will teach the lifts, teach how to video yourself doing the lifts, and what to look for in your own video review. We will spend some time reviewing video from the platform sessions so that you can see areas to focus on and improve in your own lifting and in your ability to review your videos.
Attendees at the camp will receive a packet of material including answers to commonly asked questions, general programming information, additional resources and tips for continuing training as a self-sufficient lifter.
The camp will end with a Q&A with Rip.
Who is this Camp For?
The Self-Sufficient Lifter Camp is open to anyone who is interested in properly implementing the Starting Strength method.
What to Bring
Proper weightlifting shoes are highly recommended. They increase stability, control, and consistency in all of the lifts and should be considered essential equipment if barbell training is a priority. If participants use weightlifting belts, they are encouraged to bring them. You are also encouraged to wear a 100% cotton shirt if possible or avoid wearing any slick/moisture wicking material. Please also wear knee-high socks, or sweat pants to allow the barbell to contact the shins without causing abrasions.

This session was exactly what I was hoping for. I attended about 6 months into my NLP which happened to be when I was starting to run into some problems. Rip and Nick packed a lot of information into one day, and only a few weeks after attending the technique and programming adjustments I learned at the session have had me consistently hitting PR’s again. Lifting at the WFAC and getting to see all of the history on the walls is a pretty damn cool experience as well. I’ll definitely hope to be back.
